Saat X Magazine is on of publish offices of Valeh Schools Inc. based in Tehran, Iran. The purpose of this magazine was to be given to the hands of educators, students and personnel of the Valeh itself, while the other purpose was to gather and publish some new and exciting articles about science and culture from top publishments in those fields, most related articles were scientific articles about space, technology, etc., Next orientation was culture, where we published a lot about folk and modern music of countries, on other hand, we have introduced to a variety Iranian artists for middle pages, where we choose from his recent galleries and print one of his top selected ones.
For print version of magazine there's been a need of creating simple-minimal layouts with some eye-catchy intros for articles, while the main basic layout was created by predecessors of my position and editor-in-chief Mohammad Ara, there's been no need to change any basic things, other than a bit of changes in some issues, then creating more creative layout-per-article was the importance.
Creating bold and also balanced designs and using a bit of A-Symmetry in Design-against-Type, beside each other, was a key to achieve such fast, modern and cozy designs, and also, I had the idea of using a limited color pallete for each article to make every each of them more bold and differ than the other ones.
Below, you can see some of them.
Afterward of issue 29, Cover design was on me.
I've tried to keep the style of mine with new modern tools of 3D art and show the depth to emphasize the inner meaning, and also kept the artistic abstract and surreal style of predecessors.
One of the things that I really like to use while coloring is Color Contrast, which allows designer to make subjects shine in the display.
The results were suitable for press, but also, I've created some motion graphics out of them!
You can see the motions here and prints below.
One of specific routine contents of the magazine was The Event page (Roidad - رویداد in Farsi).
This page contained one or more cartoons, done by artists Sina Salari and Zahir Aghakhani. Cartoons were about local or global important (and occasionally funny!) events mostly happened in the month of publish.
In 2020 we decided to re-publish the published/printed cartoons at new mediums - to magazine's social medias, and by my own suggestion, format of re-publishing of these cute cartoons became Scenarioized-Motion, which was possible for almost all of cartoons, because of nature of a cartoon, which there must be at least a little scenario inside the original made by artist to get performed.
I used Adobe programs, Photoshop and Aftereffects to make that happen, but also to make intro and outro animations, I've drawn some drawings in Illustrator to form single frame-manual animations, designed all by me and that spiced "Roidad"s with Saat X branding into new form.
Also, I've done mixing music and SFXs by Adobe Audition, with the help of zapsplat.com Platform.
You can watch single frame animation's drawings in the slideshow.
Watch some of The Event animations in below and don't forget to look at Saat X's Instagram Page to see more The Event videos.
In late 1840''s the John B. Curtis invented industrial and edible chewing gum, which made him guilty for all the trouble world got in its hands for gummy seats, handrails, and passengers ways!
In 1940’s there’s been a scarce of food for a period of time, a ture famine in Iran at the WWII, the governor Esfandiari ordered parliament to change the backyard’s occupation from a flower yard to a farm for cultivating people most needed foods in it.
November 1915, parliament of Iran agreed to the law for occupy matured boys as soldiers to make military more strengthened. For years it was and is a Forced law against people don’t like to be on duty on such (Right part). But at least today it’s a little bit more look mellow (maybe) (Left part)!
